The vibrant city of Derry~Londonderry is set alongside the banks of the River Foyle in the North West of Ireland. Derry City is also a gateway to the famous Irish coastal routes of the Wild Atlantic Way and the Causeway Coast. The area has strong sporting, music, political and cultural connections with two Nobel Prize winners hailing from the region. Derry is the only completely walled city in Ireland and the UK and stands at 400 years old.

A visit will encompass 1450 years of history including the Siege of Derry and the Battle of the Bogside. Stroll across Peace Bridge which curves across the River Foyle and leads to Ebrington Square to visit the emerging Waterside area of the city, home to some of the newest restaurants and bars. Known for its warm hospitality, a visit to Derry’s lively pubs for a Guinness, live music and plenty of craic is a must.

Derry City is a thriving hub of culture, creativity, and boundless optimism, steeped in a rich history of resilience and perseverance. Renowned for the unfaltering kindness and generosity of its inhabitants, this remarkable city exudes a sense of renewed hope and purpose as it emerges from a turbulent past.

The Causeway Coast

The North Coast boasts a diverse array of attractions, ranging from grand castles steeped in history to awe-inspiring landscapes featured as filming locations in the acclaimed television series “Game of Thrones.” In addition, the region is home to esteemed whiskey distilleries that offer tours and tastings, as well as pristine beaches. Furthermore, the Northern Coast is graced with several UNESCO world heritage sites, showcasing the rich cultural and natural heritage of the area.

The Dark Hedges – The Dark Hedges is a beautiful avenue of beech trees that were planted in the late 18th century. For centuries these trees grew to become ever more magnificent, with their winding trunks and branches forming a fantastical tree tunnel, just over half a mile in length. Naturally, such a beautiful location was eventually going to be featured in some kind of TV show or movie, and the Dark Hedges has appeared in both, with Game of Thrones being the most well-known show to be shot here.

The Giant’s Causeway –  is one of the most recognisable attractions in Northern Ireland. It’s the only UNESCO world heritage site in Northern Ireland, and is an absolute must-visit when in the area.
